I’ve been asked to do some translation of cartoons in English from French - what is the going rate per hour?
I’m going to be translating 3 minute cartoons - I’m thinking they should take me an hour to fulling transcribe, translate and make a suitable English script for.

I don’t know about cartoons; but Eng-Fr or Fr-Eng written work is around £6 per 100 words.

If you will be self employed you can make your own rate. Try not to price yourself out of the market or under price as people would think you are no good…weird i know. As its a very skilled profession you could as a good rate but one that pulls people in. Prehaps £20 an hour or do it by the word. This can be better as people will have a definative price, the other way is a bit hit and miss for pricing.
